About Common Good
Common Good is a small, women-led company in Brooklyn, founded by Sacha Dunn, a former prop stylist who wanted household cleaners that worked, looked good on the counter and came in bottles you could refill. The formulas are short and plant-based — a sugar-derived surfactant, citric acid, mineral salts, essential oil — with no dyes, phosphates or synthetic fragrance, and they are readily biodegradable and safe for septic and greywater systems. The tea tree scent is the essential oil itself, clean and slightly medicinal, and it fades as the surface dries.
How to use
- Use on countertops, tile, porcelain and other washable nonporous surfaces
- Wipe away kitchen residue, fingerprints and everyday spills
- Pair with a refillable spray bottle for repeated use

Questions
Where can I use it? Sealed countertops, tile, porcelain, painted surfaces, appliances and the inside of the fridge. Avoid unsealed stone and raw wood; the citric acid can etch marble.
Is it a disinfectant? It is sold as a cleaner, not a disinfectant. It lifts grease, fingerprints and everyday residue; use a dedicated product where you need to disinfect.
Can I refill the bottle? Yes. The bottle is designed to be refilled, and Common Good sells refill pouches and boxes.
Pairs with
Heirloom Tomato dish soap at the sink. More for the table and kitchen.
Lello’s Point of View
Why we chose it. An all-purpose cleaner should clean well, disappear quickly and not make the house smell like a cleaning aisle. Tea tree gives this plant-based formula a fresh, functional character that fades as the surface dries.
What it makes better. One bottle handles the fingerprints, spills and daily kitchen residue that otherwise accumulate because getting out a specialized product feels like too much trouble.
How we would use it. Keep it in the refillable Common Good spray bottle for sealed counters, appliances, tile and the inside of the refrigerator. Wipe, put it back, move on.
Who will love it. The person who cleans as they cook, refill-minded households and anyone who wants straightforward home care without synthetic fragrance or unnecessary visual clutter.
Why it earns its place. A short plant-based ingredient list, essential-oil scent and refillable system make it a practical everyday cleaner rather than another single-use bottle under the sink.

The maker

Brooklyn, since 2010. Common Good began after its founder returned to New York from Australia, where refilling household bottles was a familiar habit. Frustrated by single-use plastic and by the ingredient lists of many products marketed as “green,” she began the company from her Brooklyn home and worked...
