About L’Abeille Occitane
L’Abeille Occitane — the Occitan bee — is a confectioner from the south of France making the honey sweets of the region: a hard sugar shell around a liquid centre of honey scented with lavender. They are the candies kept in the tin by the door in Provençal houses, offered with coffee, and the bag is generous enough to last.

Questions
Is the centre really liquid? Yes: bite or let it dissolve and the honey runs. Keep the bag closed and cool or the shells soften.
How strong is the lavender? A scent more than a taste; the honey leads.
For children? A hard candy, so for children old enough for those; not for infants, who should not have honey.
Pairs with
Perronneau lavender honey for the same flavor in the jar; Nina’s Je T’aime tea. More honeys, confitures and sweet things.
Lello’s Point of View
Why we chose it. These are the candies we want in a dish after coffee: unmistakably French, nostalgic without being childish, and hiding a liquid lavender-honey center behind the hard shell.
What it makes better. They give you a tiny dessert when a full dessert would be too much, and turn a cup of tea or coffee into a more complete little ritual.
How we would use it. Keep them in a covered candy dish and offer them after dinner with espresso or alongside Nina’s tea in the afternoon.
Who will love it. Francophiles, lavender lovers, nostalgic sweet-tooths and hosts who like having one unexpected thing to offer after the plates are cleared.
Why it earns its place. A generous 200 g French bag with a true liquid honey center gives this confection a sensory surprise that ordinary hard candy does not have.
