The Lello Collection

Collection: The Drinks Bakery

The biscuit made for the drink.

The story begins in a campervan crossing Europe in the 1970s. Founder Andy Murray grew up watching his parents pair the evening aperitif with whatever people were eating locally — a small ritual that taught him that the right bite could make a good drink even better.

Decades later, as wine, whisky, craft beer and cocktails became increasingly sophisticated, Andy saw that the snacks served beside them had hardly changed. The Drinks Bakery was his answer: award-winning savoury biscuits deliberately flavour-profiled to balance and complement what is in the glass.

Hand-baked in the Highlands of Scotland, the collection turns cocktail hour into something more considered: rich cheeses, herbs, spice and savoury depth, matched to everything from Champagne and crisp white wine to Martinis, bourbon and smoky whisky.

The idea reached BBC Dragons’ Den in 2018, where Andy secured investment from Deborah Meaden and Peter Jones. For Lello, the appeal is simpler still: these are not crackers waiting for a topping. They are part of the drink.

Four flavours. One ritual.

Italian Cheese & Sweet Basil — nutty, tangy and herbaceous; beautiful with Champagne, Prosecco and white wine.

Mature Cheddar & Smoked Chilli — rich, smoky and gently warming; made for fuller reds, beer, bourbon and whisky.

Aged Gouda & Red Onion — deeply savoury with mellow sweetness; an effortless drinks-table biscuit.

Green Olive & Parsley Drinks Twists — buttery, briny and crisp; particularly good beside a Martini, Aperol Spritz or chilled white wine.

Pour something good. Put something exceptional beside it.
